Mumbai, Oct. 5 -- Mumbai Police reportedly registered an FIR against the organisers of a joint protest march led by Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray in Mumbai on 4 October 2026.

The protest, held under the banner of the Virat Garjana Morcha, was organised to oppose the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Maharashtra and demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The march began at Metro Cinema and proceeded towards the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation headquarters in South Mumbai.
