Japan's 10-year government bond yield hits highest level since 1996
Mumbai, Aug. 17 -- Japan's 10-year government bond yield hit its highest level since 1996 on Monday, adding to its recent uptick. However, a tepid reading on the economic growth capped upside. The 10-year JGB yield touched 2.93%, its highest level since September 1996, before easing modestly. The Japanese economy rose at an annualised rate of 1.1% in the second quarter, Cabinet Office data showed, down from a downwardly revised 1.9% pace in the first quarter.
