Government raises Rs 32,000 crore via bond auction; demand strong across maturities
Mumbai, April 24 -- The government raised Rs 32,000 crore through the auction of four dated securities on Friday, with healthy demand across papers and no devolvement on primary dealers.
The auction included the 6.03% GS 2029, 6.68% GS 2033, 7.24% GS 2055, and a new Government of India Sovereign Green Bond (SGrB) 2056.
Demand was particularly robust for the 2033 paper, which attracted bids worth over Rs 34,543 crore against a notified amount of Rs 11,000 crore, translating into more than three times subscription. The 2029 bond also saw solid interest with bids of Rs 17,597 crore.
