Government raises Rs 32,000 crore through bond auction; demand remains robust across maturities
Mumbai, Aug. 7 -- The government successfully raised Rs 32,000 crore through the auction of two dated government securities on Friday, with healthy investor demand across both the five-year and ultra-long tenor papers. The auction concluded without any devolvement on primary dealers.
The auction comprised Rs 21,000 crore of the 6.36% GS 2031 and Rs 11,000 crore of the 7.71% GS 2066.
The 6.36% GS 2031 attracted competitive bids worth Rs 50,030 crore against the notified amount of Rs 21,000 crore, implying a subscription of about 2.38 times. The security was accepted at a cut-off price of Rs 99.98, translating into a cut-off yield of 6.3647%.
