Government raises Rs 28,000 crore through G-Sec auction; 2041 bond sees strong demand
Mumbai, Aug. 21 -- The government raised Rs 28,000 crore through the auction of two dated government securities on Friday, with the 7.06% GS 2041 attracting strong investor demand. The auction was completed without any devolvement on primary dealers.
The government raised Rs 17,000 crore through the 7.06% GS 2041 and Rs 11,000 crore through the 7.43% GS 2076.
The 2041 bond attracted competitive bids worth Rs 43,115 crore against the notified amount of Rs 17,000 crore, implying subscription of about 2.54 times. The cut-off price was Rs 99.93, translating into a cut-off yield of 7.0668%. The weighted average yield stood at 7.0635%.
