Government raises Rs 25,506 crore through government bond auction
Mumbai, Sept. 11 -- The Government raised Rs 25,505.529 crore through the auction of three government securities on 11 September 2026, against a total notified amount of Rs 32,000 crore. The auction comprised the 6.20% Government Security 2029, 6.57% Government Security 2033 and a new Government Security 2056.
The 6.20% GS 2029 received 92 competitive bids amounting to Rs 23,263 crore. One competitive bid worth Rs 4,500 crore was accepted at a cut-off yield of 6.4031%. The weighted average yield was also 6.4031%. Including Rs 5.529 crore accepted through non-competitive bids, the total amount accepted for the security was Rs 4,505.529 crore. The RBI noted that this was a partial acceptance.
