Mumbai, Aug. 25 -- Crude oil prices stay upbeat on Tuesday morning in Asia as geopolitical risks to Middle East energy flows continue to escalate. Intensified economic pressure on Iran and its trading partners to force the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is underpinning gains in oil. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reportedly announced plans to isolate Iran by penalizing countries maintaining business ties with Tehran. Adding to the pressure, President Donald Trump stated that those nations will be given a specific timeline to sever ies with Iran or face unilateral US penalties. Currently, WTI crude oil futures are quoting at $85.16 per barrel, up 0.16% on the day while Brent is hovering above $92 mark.
