Mumbai, Nov. 5 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced a Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls in six states and Union Territories, with 1 January 2027 set as the qualifying date. The exercise will cover Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Mizoram, Odisha and Sikkim.

The Commission has directed the authorities concerned to complete the rationalisation and rearrangement of polling stations by 20 November 2026. The integrated draft electoral rolls will be published on 30 November 2026.

The period for filing claims and objections will run from 30 November to 30 December 2026. The final electoral rolls are scheduled for publication on 21 January 2027.
