Mumbai, Aug. 5 -- The United States trade deficit in goods and services saw a monthly decrease of $4.4 billion or 5.6% to $73.3 billion in June, the country's Census Bureau and Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) said in their report published on Tuesday.

Exports from the US declined by 0.9% or $2.9 billion month-on-month to $314.7 billion. Meanwhile, imports to the country fell by 1.8% or $7.3 billion to $388.0 billion.

On an annual basis, the overall trade deficit decreased by 33.8% or $189.3 billion. Exports went up by 11.7% or $198.3 billion. Meanwhile, imports rose by 0.4% or $9.0 billion.
