Mumbai, July 29 -- The United States trade deficit in goods decreased by 4.2% from May to $101.5 billion in June, according to a preliminary report by the Census Bureau released on Tuesday. Exports fell by $3.8 billion to $204.7 billion, while imports dropped by $8.2 billion to $306.2 billion.

Wholesale inventories stood at $945.9 billion, slightly up by 0.3% compared to the previous month. In the same period, the value of retail inventories was reported at $831.3 billion, remaining flat month-on-month.
