Mumbai, Oct. 1 -- Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) in the United States saw a monthly rise of 0.9% in August, the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) said in its report published on Wednesday. Personal income increased by 0.2%, and disposable personal income (DPI) by 0.3%.

The PCE price index, the inflation indicator favored by the Federal Reserve, went up by 0.3% in August after growing by 0.1% in July. Year-on-year, it expanded by 3.4%. Excluding food and energy, the index rose by 0.2% on a monthly basis and 3% on an annual one.
