Mumbai, Aug. 6 -- The United States' service sector activity improved slightly in July, the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) said on Wednesday. The Services Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) came in at 54.1%, up from June's 54%, but below market expectations.
The Business Activity Index increased to 59.1% from 55.4%, while the New Orders Index rose to 57.2% from 55.1%. The Employment Index declined to 47.4%, compared to 51.2% in June. Supplier Deliveries fell to 52.8% from 54.4%.
