Mumbai, June 11 -- The latest Federal Budget Balance report shows that the U.S. government recorded a budget deficit of $293.0 billion. This marks a sharp reversal from the previous month, when the government posted a surplus of $215.0 billion.

The shift from surplus to deficit indicates that government spending exceeded revenue during the reporting period. The change highlights a significant deterioration in the federal government's fiscal position compared with the previous month.
