Mumbai, Aug. 3 -- Construction spending in the United States amounted to $2.17 billion in June, decreasing 0.1% compared to last month's revised figure, according to a US Census Bureau report published on Monday. On annual basis, the figure dropped 3.2%.
Private construction spending came in at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.62 billion, down by 0.1% from May when it stood at $1.63 billion. Residential construction arrived at $877.1 billion in the reported month, representing a 0.3% decline compared to the prior month's revised estimate. At the same time, nonresidential construction rose 0.1% to $745.3 billion, while public construction remained unchanged at $544.1 billion.
