Mumbai, Sept. 17 -- Inventories in the manufacturing and trade sectors in the United States rose by 0.8% in July, on a monthly basis, standing at $2.76 trillion, the US Census Bureau shared in a report on Tuesday. On an annual basis, the figure was up by 3.8%.

In the reported month, the combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers' shipments saw a monthly growth of 0.3% and a yearly jump of 8.9%, standing at $2.12 trillion.

The ratio between business inventories and sales at the end of July was 1.30, down from 1.37 registered a year ago.
