Mumbai, March 10 -- UK retail sales rose 0.7% year-on-year on a like-for-like basis in February 2026, marking a sharp slowdown from the 2.3% growth recorded in January and the weakest pace in nine months. Food sales increased 2.9% during the month but remained below the 12-month average growth of 3.8%. Meanwhile, non-food sales declined 0.4%, contrasting with the 1% average increase seen over the past year, highlighting softer consumer spending across discretionary categories.
