Mumbai, May 20 -- Consumer price inflation in UK slowed to 2.8% in April from 3.3% in March, according to official figures published on Wednesday. This marked the lowest reading since March last year, mainly driven by slower inflation for housing and household services. Annual core inflation rate eased to 2.5% in April 2026 from 3.1% in the prior month, slightly below market expectations of 2.6%. It marked the lowest reading since July 2021.
