Mumbai, June 5 -- UK house prices increased 0.5% year-on-year in May 2026, accelerating slightly from a 0.4% rise in April, according to the Halifax House Price Index. The average home price stood at £298,806, while prices edged down 0.1% month-on-month for a second consecutive month. Housing market activity remained resilient, with transaction levels holding steady. Regionally, Northern Ireland led annual growth with a 7.8% increase, followed by Scotland and northern England, while house prices continued to decline in London and the South East.
