Mumbai, July 16 -- The United Kingdom's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.1% in May, according to a monthly estimate released by the country's Office for National Statistics (ONS) on Thursday. The reading was in line with analysts' expectations.
According to the report, the services sector rose by 0.3% in May. The growth was partly offset by a 0.5% fall in production and 0.8% in construction.
On a quarterly basis, the UK economy is estimated to have expanded by 0.7% in the three months to May, compared to the previous three-month period, led by a 1.6% rise in construction.
