Mumbai, Aug. 31 -- Japan's industrial production index was at 104.7 in July, marking a 0.1% increase from June and a 4.1% jump from the previous year, according to a preliminary report from the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI).
The index of inventories went up by 0.5% and the inventory ratio fell by 1.7% month-on-month, while the shipments index increased by 2.2%.
Year-on-year, the shipments index rose by 4.8%, while inventories and the inventory ratio fell by 2.0% and 1.9%, respectively.
