Mumbai, July 8 -- Japan's current account surplus widened to JPY 3,968.3 billion in May 2026 from JPY 3,320.5 billion a year earlier. The improvement was driven by a return to a marginal goods surplus as export growth of 14.7% outpaced import growth of 8.1%, while the primary income surplus increased and the secondary income deficit narrowed.
