Mumbai, April 30 -- Japan's seasonally adjusted Consumer Confidence Index edged down by 1.1 points in April when compared to the previous month, coming in at 32.2, according to Thursday's report by the country's Cabinet Office.

The overall livelihood index went down by 1.5 points from the previous month to 28.2, while the employment index marked a 0.2-point decrease, ending up at 37.4. The income growth indicator remained unchanged at 39.8, with the willingness to buy durable goods down by 2.8 points to 23.2.

The percentage of respondents who expect prices to increase over the next year was 93.6%, up 0.5% from the previous month, while 2.3% of those surveyed see them unchanged and 2.3% expect prices to fall.
