Mumbai, June 1 -- The unemployment rate in the Eurozone stood at 6.3% in April, up slightly from 6.2% in March and 6.2% in April 2025, the European Commission's statistical office, Eurostat, revealed in its report released on Monday. In the European Union, the figure landed at 6.0%, stable compared to both the previous month and to April 2025.
In the EU, 13.2 million people were unemployed, 11 million of them in the euro area. On a monthly basis, those figures decreased by 137,000 in the EU and 84,000 in the Eurozone. Meanwhile, on an annual basis, the numbers increased by 82,000 in the EU and by 45,000 in the euro area.
The youth unemployment rate stood at 14.7% in the euro area and 15.1% in the EU.
