Mumbai, Aug. 19 -- Australia's Wage Price Index rose 3.2% YoY in Q2 2026, unchanged from the revised Q1 reading and in line with expectations, but marking its weakest growth since Q4 2024. Private-sector wage growth eased to 3.1%, while public-sector pay remained at 3.4%. On a quarterly basis, wages increased 0.8% for the fourth consecutive quarter. The moderation in wage pressures could provide the RBA with greater flexibility on monetary policy as inflation risks continue to be assessed.
