Mumbai, July 16 -- Australia's consumer inflation expectations fell to 4.7% in July 2026 from 5.5% in June, the lowest reading since January, reflecting easing headline inflation. However, underlying inflation remained elevated, with trimmed mean CPI rising 3.6% year-on-year in May. The RBA maintained that its recent rate hikes are helping curb price pressures and remains committed to returning inflation to its 2-3% target over time.
