Mumbai, Oct. 16 -- US dollar eased from an 18-month peak as investors looked past strong US inflation following slightly dovish talk from US Fed offials. The dollar index, which measures the US currency against a basket of peers, fell well under 102 mark and tested a one-week low near 101.50. US producer prices rose by the most in four and half years in September as goods and services costs increased. However, there is a possibility that the Fed may go easy on monetary policy after raising rates for first time in three years and treasury yields are off two-decade high following this. Dollar index is also under stress as a result.
