Mumbai, Oct. 22 -- Crude oil prices surged more than 3% on Thursday, with Brent approaching $113 per barrel and WTI nearing $100, as escalating attacks in Saudi Arabia and rising threats to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz intensified fears of global supply disruptions. Washington's decision to withdraw non-emergency government personnel and their families from Saudi Arabia further underscored the growing security risks. A weaker US dollar added support to oil prices, while markets looked ahead to next week's central bank meetings, with the Federal Reserve, European Central Bank and Bank of Japan widely expected to hold rates steady. On the domestic front, MCX November crude oil futures rose 3% to Rs.9,485 per barrel.
