Mumbai, Aug. 24 -- Cottonseed oilcake futures slipped today, adding to recent losses as markets eyed the uptick in Cotton sowing in last few weeks. The acreage under the commodity is still under the normal area but the deficit compared to last year has been plugged to a large extent. NCDEX Cottonseed oilcake futures tanked around 4.70% to close at Rs 3341 per quintal. The counter has lost around 15% in last three weeks. The acreage under Cotton stands at 108.45 lakh hectares as on 21st August 2026, almost unchanged compared to 108.73 in year ago period. This deficit stood at around 20 lakh hectares at the start of July but progressive surge in sowing thereafter has reduced it greatly.
