Copper attempts to stabilize around six-week low
Mumbai, Sept. 15 -- COMEX Copper futures edged up today, trying to stabilize around six-week low as markets eyed supportive data from China. The red metal is down around 4% this month and is currently quoting at $6.41 per pound, up 0.16% on the day. MCX Copper futures are up 0.17% at Rs 1362.75 per kg. China's value-added industrial output expanded by 5.2% year on year in August, accelerating by 0.7 percentage point from the previous month, official data showed Tuesday, with industrial robots among the standout products. Meanwhile, Asian shares turned lower today. China's Shanghai Composite index fell 0.54%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index dipped 1% while Japanese Nikkei index ended flat.
