Mumbai, Sept. 22 -- COMEX copper is hovering around record high levels tracking a surge on Wall Street overnight and generally supportive action in global equities today. The metal is hovering around $6.85 per pound, up around 1.35% on the day. Copper has been rising despite recent spurt in LME inventories and markets are eying growing demand and planned maintenance closures at several Chinese refineries through October and November 2026. MCX Copper is up 0.28% at Rs 1416.45 per kg. Local futures saw volatile moves today, testing lows around Rs 1410 per kg before witnessing a recovery.
