Mumbai, Sept. 30 -- Chinese stocks ended mixed on Wednesday, as the latest government support measures failed to fully lift investor confidence.

The Shanghai Composite gained 0.31% to 3,842.2, while the Shenzhen Component slipped 0.11% to 12,887.6. Policymakers announced mortgage subsidies and increased central bank funding support, while the State Council promised more practical measures to support the economy.

Investors are still looking for stronger steps to revive weak domestic demand. Recent official and private PMI data, however, offered some relief.

Industrial and Commercial Bank of China rose 1.35% and Kweichow Moutai gained 1.81%. In contrast, NAURA Technology fell 2.06% and Suzhou Dongshan Precision Industry dropped 2.15%.
