Mumbai, June 2 -- COMEX Copper continues to gain ground on Tuesday morning in Asia tracking optimistic cues from US equities. The major averages on Wall Street ended the day off their best levels but still at new record closing highs. The tech-heavy Nasdaq climbed 114.19 points or 0.4 percent to 27,086.81, the S&P 500 rose 19.90 points or 0.3 percent to 7,599.96 and the Dow inched up 46.42 points or 0.1 percent to 51,078.88. However, broader market pressures are weighing on the demand side, as recent economic data from China revealed stalling factory activity, intensifying fears that the world's second-largest economy is losing momentum. The red metal is currently quoting at $6.57 per pound, up marginally on the day.
