Mumbai, Aug. 28 -- Hero MotoCorp's committee of directors approved the acquisition on 27 August 2026. The company said the transaction involves purchasing additional shares from an existing shareholder of Ather.

Hero MotoCorp currently holds 29.88% of Ather on a fully diluted basis. Following the purchase, its stake will increase to up to around 32.8%.

The transaction will be completed by 3 September 2026. Hero MotoCorp will pay cash consideration of up to Rs 1,758 crore for the additional shares.

The company said no government or regulatory approvals are required for the transaction. It also said the purchase does not fall under related party transactions.
