Nairobi, April 5 -- The construction of a techno-centre in Nairobi's South B area, which has stalled for years, has been allocated an additional Sh3.4 billion and the tender for the project awarded to a new contractor.
Kingsley Construction Company has been awarded the tender for the main works for the construction of research and testing for the Kenya Industrial Research & Development Institute (Kirdi) for Sh2.66 billion, according to regulatory disclosures by the procurement entity, the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA).
The additional allocation pushes the total cost for the project by 57 percent to Sh8.56 billion from the initial budget of Sh5.9 billion.
