Nairobi, Sept. 15 -- The High Court has quashed the Government's sale of its 15 percent stake in Safaricom to Vodacom Group after finding that material information regarding the transaction was concealed from the public.

A three-judge bench held that the deal, which was completed on June 30, 2026, had been presented as a partial divestiture when in reality it amounted to a takeover that gave Vodacom effective control of Safaricom.
