Nairobi, Nov. 6 -- MTN Uganda posted a 21.2 percent growth in net profit to an equivalent of Sh18.2 billion in the nine months ended September, helped by the absence of a tax of Ush111 billion (Sh3.5 billion) paid a year earlier.

The Uganda Securities Exchange-listed telco, whose owners include Kenyan investors, had made a net profit of Sh15 billion the year before.
