Nairobi, Oct. 7 -- New loans for land purchase and homes ownership in saccos overtook agriculture and education last year as members in cooperatives increasingly tap long term credit.

Data from Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (Sasra) shows the cooperatives added Sh53.8 billion as new credit in 2025 compared to Sh82.3 billion in 2024.
