KPC revives fraud claims in Sh500m fuel control valves supply row
Nairobi, Nov. 5 -- The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has been allowed to amend its defence in a court dispute involving a Sh500 million claim by a supplier for alleged unpaid deliveries of specialised shut-off and control valves. The valves were installed in underground pits at airports to manage high-volume aviation fuel transfer from underground hydrant systems to aircraft.
The company told the court that it intends to introduce allegations of fraud, false documents and inflated prices in the suit filed by Aero Dispenser Valves Limited in 2017, seeking $3.85 million (Sh500 million) in unpaid payments for the supply of hydrant pit valves and two years' maintenance spares to KPC.
