Jubilee blocks Sh1.28bn in fake insurance claims using AI
Nairobi, May 24 -- Jubilee Holdings averted Sh1.28 billion losses in fictitious claims last year, nearly three times the previous year's figure, as it deployed artificial intelligence (AI) tools to curb insurance fraud.
The insurer said the prevented losses were more than triple the Sh424.56 million recorded in 2024, underscoring the growing threat of fictitious claims in Kenya's insurance industry.
Disclosures in Jubilee's latest annual report show the rise in blocked claims came even as actual fraud losses increased to Sh47.25 million from Sh40.82 million, while recoveries improved to Sh65.59 million from Sh50.44 million.
