Nairobi, June 9 -- Kenya's household electronics sector stands at a pivotal moment after registering years of sluggish growth. For decades, it has been a nation of consumers importing finished goods, with 2025 estimates placing the import bill for this category at Sh210 billion.

Until recently, Kenya relied on imported televisions. However, the registration of the country's first locally assembled, officially recognised 'Made in Kenya' television sets, highlights a major opportunity to shift the import equation.
