Nairobi, Nov. 4 -- A community-based organisation has proposed the excision of a portion of the Marsabit National Game Reserve to formally settle thousands of households currently living within the boundaries of the animal park popular for its bird and zebra population.

The group, Rebuilding Pastoralist Livelihoods Organisation (REPAL) suggests that approximately 14,402 acres or 5,827 hectares be hived off from the reserve to settle people.
