Nairobi, Oct. 28 -- The Kenya Flower Council has asked the High Court to extend orders suspending the implementation of a new standards levy, warning that its members risk losing export contracts, market share and jobs if the charges are enforced.

The council argues that flowers are perishable and sold under long-term contracts, making it difficult to recover losses through refunds if the levy is later declared unlawful.
