Court stops CMA summons against Kakuzi directors pending ruling
Nairobi, June 9 -- The Court of Appeal has suspended summons issued against eight directors of Kakuzi Ltd in an investigation by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) into alleged conflict of interest and financial impropriety.
A three-judge bench halted enforcement of the notices to show cause pending a ruling on an application filed by the directors challenging the regulator's actions.
"Pending the delivery of the ruling, there shall be a stay of proceedings and/or enforcement of the notices to show cause served upon the applicants dated September 5, 2023," the court ordered.
