Nairobi, Oct. 26 -- APA Apollo Group has acquired two insurance companies in Tanzania as it moves to increase its share of underwriting businesses outside Kenya.

The insurer, which already had a subsidiary in Uganda and an associate in Tanzania, said on Monday it has completed the acquisition of a controlling stake in Meticulous General Insurance Company Limited and Metro Life Assurance Company Limited in Tanzania. APA has not disclosed the value of the deal.
