Nairobi, Aug. 17 -- Eli Mwenda likes his flowers fresh and simple. The digital content creator and entrepreneur, who co-hosts the Mantalk.ke podcast, buys himself a bouquet roughly every 10 days to two weeks. When he pays for them himself, he spends about Sh1,500, although he sometimes receives flowers as gifts.

His usual choice is a mixture of roses and baby's breath, particularly yellow roses, which he says complement the theme of his home. Sometimes, he leaves the choice to the florist.

Mwenda started buying himself flowers about three years ago, a few months after moving into his apartment. At first, it was mainly about decorating his new home after he partnered with a flower brand.
