Srinagar, April 13 -- The decision to reserve 33% seats for women in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies, to be implemented by the time of the 2029 elections in India, marks a paradigm shift in India's democratic structure. Stemming from the Nari Shakti Vandan Act that was enacted in 2023, this initiative is intended to solve the age-old problem of the underrepresentation of women in politics.
