Srinagar, Feb. 25 -- The 20-coach Vande Bharat Express will connect Jammu and Srinagar starting March 1, enhancing rail connectivity. The extension from Katra to Jammu will improve passenger convenience, with the upgraded rake carrying up to 1,400 passengers per trip. The train has already carried 3.75 lakh passengers in six months between Katra and Srinagar. The Jammu Railway Division has expanded freight operations, handling apples, cement, foodgrain, and military cargo, improving strategic mobility and regional trade logistics.
