Srinagar, Aug 9, Aug. 10 -- Police have arrested two alleged drug peddlers in separate cases in Shopian and Pulwama districts and recovered contraband from their possession, officials said on Sunday. In Shopian, police intercepted a suspicious person at a naka point near Manihal Crossing during a checking operation. A search led to the recovery of 44 grams of charas (hashish), following which the suspect was taken into custody.The accused was identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, a resident of Anantnag district.Police said the arrest was made as part of intensified efforts to curb drug trafficking and the movement of narcotic substances in the Valley.
