Two Arrested in Anantnag Over Alleged Rs.24,000 Extortion, Threat to Frame Victim in Drug Case
Srinagar, August 13, Aug. 13 -- Police have arrested two men in Anantnag district for allegedly extorting Rs.24,000 from a local resident after threatening to implicate him in a false narcotics case. According to police, Police Station Srigufwara received a complaint from Ajaz Ahmad Shah, son of Mohd Maqbool and a resident of Pethi Nambal Mattan. The complainant alleged that the accused had taken Rs.24,000 from him and threatened to involve him in an NDPS case if he failed to make further payments. Police said verification of the complaint found that the victim had no involvement in any narcotics-related case.
