Srinagar, Oct. 1 -- The killing of Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Moosa, also known as Asif Fauji, in Budgam is being described by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs as a serious blow to the LeT ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir. The operation, carried out by security forces after intelligence-led efforts, underlines the continuing importance of precise intelligence, coordinated action and sustained counter-terror operations. But an encounter, however significant, cannot by itself be the measure of success in the larger fight against terrorism.
